At the meeting they explained to me that the NMBS (national mountain bike series) was closing its doors due to a lack of funds and they told me that their would not be a professional mountain bike race series in the USA for 2009.

Why do you care so much?Well a bunch of reasons, but here are a few. First, we invented Mountain Biking in the USA, and I was not about to let the national mountain bike series in the US die if I could do anything about it. Second, we need to be competitive on a world level and if we cannot develop and or qualify Olympic riders for the USA that is a tragedy. Third, it is the right thing to do for the community.
